Convinced we were entering our next challenge, Elle and Blair surprised us with some cupcakes and girl talk in an effort to get to know us better. I won't lie, I thought the sweetness was a bit too good to be true, and I stayed on the edge of my seat throughout the small talk. Happy Beauty Vlogger Boot Camp Tuesday! For this challenge, we were given 10 minutes and $100 to find one day look and one evening look from Lucky You Resale Boutique in Los Angeles. We also had the fabulous (and, at times, intimidating) diva-stylist-extraordinaire Marcellas Reynolds!


Now that there are only four of us left, the producers divided this challenge into two segments: Rachel and Shanice went last week, while Christina and I finally received our time to shine this week! Happy Sunday! For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you may recognize this photo. I received quite a few comments and tweets asking about my outfit and makeup, so I thought I would post the details for you on here. Thank you so much to those who take time to express kind words to me via social media. It means a lot! Details below  

I am beyond obsessed with my new bright Theory blazer from Bloomingdales. The tailoring is simply perfection, and I love the bossy shoulders and the (lack of) lapels. It's sexy, savvy and trendy. Although the yellow looks super sunny in the photo, it wouldn't be too bright to mix in with my Fall wardrobe as well. 

My AQUA necklace (also from Bloomingdales) came either with neon pink accent beads or neon yellow, but I fell in love with the blue. It adds the perfect hint of bright color without being too loudly obnoxious, making it appropriate for a professional setting. 

I was having a bad (unshowered) hair day, so I teased the left side and braided the right into a french twisty braid (the braid literally twists over itself — may need to film a tutorial or take more pictures next time). It's a quick and super elegant halfsies-do.

The Costume Institue Gala, also known as "Fashion's Oscars" was held Monday night at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. The event kicked off the museums latest exhbition, "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations," which honors designers Miuccia Prada and the late Elsa Schiaparelli. 

The caliber of fashions that grace the Met Gala red carpet is unlike any other major celebrity event; there are no rules for the "costume" couture.  My favorite looks of the evening are always those that have no concern about everyday functionality and  literally look like wearable art, like out of an over-the-top fantasy land (think Mad Hatter's Ball).

Here are just a few of my favorites from this year….

Today was all about COMFORT (and a hint of laziness). I woke up to day-old hot roller curls and pulled everything loosely into a low side-ponytail. I used a 1 1/2" curling iron to add a little extra volume to the tail and a 1" flat iron to create the smooth swoop in front. 

In female terms, I was having a "fat" day. Yes, I'm very aware that I'm nowhere near obese, but I wasn't in the mood to wear anything tight or restricting. I picked out a sheer flowy top– leopard print to try to wake me up with some "wild"– and stretch denim jeans. On my feet, I wore ultra high, but ultra chunky nude pumps (Gotta have the pumps). Style details below.
